CYBORGS(PART 1)

CYBORGS [PART 1]

It may not be exactly related to the 6G communication, but it will sure become a prevalence in the future. So, I just had a thought that I would write about cyborgs in several parts weekly.
We have often seen people wearing smart watches, walking with earphones, using smart phones etc. We call them as technology which includes a kind of intelligence and they are controlled manually. Now, just think what if they were part of your body, for e.g., if you turn your fist to see the time with a watch fixed to you.. Well it sounds quite stupid example. Let us explore together what is this!!
Cyborg stands for cybernetic organism. It is an organism with both organic and biomechatronic body parts(Cyborg definition in wikipediaThe term was coined in 1960 by Manfred Clynes and Nathan S. Kline. We could all see the definitions in Wikipedia. So here, I tried to deliver the content in a different way. So let's begin

Let me introduce you a person by name 'Neil Harbisson' . He had tremendous interest in music and arts - painting. But he had a impairment sadly. He was suffering from achromatopsia . He had achromat vision. He was unable to differentiate colors. For him everything appeared gray. He grew up in Barcelona where he studied piano and began to compose music at the age of 11. At 16, he studied fine art at the Institut Alexandre Satorras, where he was given special permission to use no color in his work. His early works are all in black and white. Yet he never gave up. He wanted to do something about it. With the help of his friend Adam, he invented an antenna which converts colors into sound vibrations. He implanted that in the back of his head permanently with the help of surgery. He termed it as "cyborg antenna" . That antenna includes a chip which works on RFID [Radio Frequency IDentification -may be I will write more about it in upcoming posts], has the ability to connect to internet and can even connect with satellite. Using that antenna, Neil can detect any electromagnetic radiations reflected by any substance. It is like we see colors but he hears the color. With the help of antenna, he could even sense the colors/radiations beyond the capacity of human eye like infrared and ultraviolet. With the implantation, he became the world's first cyborg. Now, listen to this, Meow-Ludo-Disco-Gamma-Meow-Meow , what did you think?, some stupid text with a cat sound!!? Then, you are wrong. It is a legal name of an Australian!!!
He did a thing as strange as his name last year. He did not take the ticket boarding the train and tried to pay for the ticket with opal pay card he implanted in his left hand. Unfortunately, Railway officers booked a case against him for the ticket-less travel and court ordered a punishment of paying $220. His thoughts were like this....
He was a regular traveler in the train on account of his occupation. He thought taking the ticket daily would be waste of time and he didn't want to take out credit card, travel card or currency notes from his wallet again and again. So, he thought ; with the available technology, he tried to be smart and implanted opal card chip in his left hand. However his 'smartness' was denied by the railways. Still, he could not agree that. So he claimed himself as a Cyborg.

He is now a emerging politician in the Science Party in Australia. There is a discussion about him this you tube link πŸ‘‰ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySl2lC5xfSo

Knowing about these two people, we kind of have an idea about Cyborgs. Cyborgs are humans with specialized artificial body part implanted. It is no surprise that those implantation have higher ability and accuracy compared to human counter parts. Obviously, in certain fields Cyborgs have got an edge over normal humans. This raised concerns over equality. There aroused a fear that Cyborgs may rule over the normal people. This led to many consequences too. There are not only two Cyborgs. There are many cyborgs. More about them in the upcoming parts.
