This foundation was established for all the research and development activities concerned with or to Cyborgs. The mission was to assist humans to become Cyborgs. In this matter, they have donated free antennas, the one which Harbisson possess, which could detect color in the form of sound waves to the blind community across the world.
Similarly the foundation is working on several sense development projects across the world and has grabbed several awards for its work.

Partnerships and Collaborations [ source : Wikipedia]

  • In 2016, Cyborg Foundation together with Parsons School of Design, The New School, Sensorium Works and Pioneer Works launched Cyborg Futures, a cyborg residency program in New York designed to further the Cyborg Foundation’s mission to support the use of cybernetics as part of the body and begin to introduce the diverse possibilities for artistic practices that utilize extended sensory capabilities.
  • A number of collaborations exist with Ecuador, since its president Lenin Moreno announced that his government would collaborate with the Cyborg Foundation to create new sensory organs.
  • In 2012, the Cyborg Foundation signed a partnership to create new cybernetic extensions in collaboration with Universidade de Pernambuco in Brazil.
  • In 2016, together with Mesa & Cadeira, a group of people (which included a dental surgeon, engineers and a psychologist) created “Design Yourself” – a visual identity, tagline and website for the Foundation. The site explores the different human relationships with technology, and offers tools for expanding senses and abilities, and in the process, for becoming a cyborg. The group also developed a dental implant, that uses bluetooth technology and morse code to communicate. The first demonstration of the Transdental Communication System was presented in Sao Paulo.

Cyborg rights:

These were the rights that were proposed by the Foundation in favor of Cyborgs.
1. Freedom of Morphology:
According to this, any human has the right to have prostheses of his choice temporarily or permanently.

2. Right to bodily sovereignty:
Cyborgs would have the sovereignty over their body and prostheses.

3. Freedom from Disassembly:
Cyborgs mustn't be forced to undo the changes he made to the body nor to remove or deactivate the prostheses he implanted into his body.

4.Right to Organic naturalization:
The right on the implants will solely belong to the owner of the body, not to the developer nor seller.

5. Equality of Mutants:
Each Cyborg should get all the rights which are enjoyed by the normal citizens.

These rights were included under "Cyborgs Bill of Rights 1.0". It was proposed in annual meeting of Cyborgs - SXSW in 2016.
